Instagram’s Some Users’ Passwords In Plaintext

Instagram exposed its user’s passwords accidentally, this issue has been patched right now.

Instagram inform about this issue to its affected users, this vulnerability exist in the newly feature “Download Your Data”. By Using This Feature users can download their account data, including photos, comments, posts, and other details.

To prevent from this vulnerability Instagram confirm their current password before downloading the data.

According to Officially said by Instagram, passwords of the users who downloaded their personal data on Instagram, Their data was stored in a server and Instagram internal server team Discovered this detail due to security bug.

The Company said the data which is stored on the server is removed from there, This issue affected very small number of users.

The affected feature wad removed in April 2018 by Instagram according to data privacy regulations of Europe.

Instagram users whose passwords has been leaked, company strongly recommended to change the password.

If anyone didn’t receive any notifications from  Instagram, it means the account is not affected by this bug.
