We all know the ongoing situation between Israel and Iran, the two nations’ lengthy history of cyberattacks against one another could be relevant when Israel considers taking revenge for Iran’s attack. In the midst of all this, an Israeli nuclear facility’s IT network was breached by Iranian hackers where sensitive facility documents were leaked by hackers but did not compromise the operational technology network. The notorious hacktivist group Anonymous is said to have gained access to the network, resulting in the theft of data.
The organization claims that 7GB of data, including 4,290 PDF files, 5,000 emails, 325 Excel papers, 1,359 Word documents, 236 PowerPoint files, 28 zip files, and much more were taken during the hack.
“We have targeted a few of the nuclear organizations under the infant killer regime’s computers. The gang stated on X that “during this operation, we saved a part of the data, including 7GB of data that we will disclose to the people of the world while wiping and destroying the rest.” Moreover, it was said “Our operations will not stop and continue until the regime that kills the babies comes to an end. We will leave it to you to verify the data because we do not have time to do so.”
Since the start of the war, he claimed, cyber-attacks against Israel and its supporters have been “relentless”. Massive data dumps, government computer system breaches, intrusions into Israeli security cameras, increased disinformation efforts, and targeting of industrial control systems on the other side of the globe have all been the work of threat actors.
He continued by saying that Checkpoint had examined the papers the hackers had released in this instance. “We can say that they are generally not very sensitive (mainly when it comes to emails, names, and vendors they work with), but they might be vulnerable to future phishing and other attacks.”
